My entrepreneurship story starts with my dad. He started his
own construction business when he was fresh out of college at the age of
twenty-two. He overcame many odds and faced the recession of 2007 head on. He
inspired me to work towards my own goals. Freshman year of high school is when
I started my neighborhood lawn business. I started with one house in 2009 and
by 2013 I had 10 houses that I worked the week to clean and maintained. I had
one friend whom I worked with and we took care of our customers lawns.
I took this class to learn more about how entrepreneurs think
and act. I want to think more like an entrepreneur and to be able to build more
connects with co-workers and with customers. I feel this class with be the
stepping stone and give me the boost of confidence to help me pursue my dream
of creating my own business.

I love your entrepreneur story Will. Often times inspiration comes from the very people who raised us, not millionaires we read about in books or magazines. I particularly liked the way you worded your reason to take this class. Your intention is not to just become an entrepreneur, but to first adopt the mindset of one. And I'm sure you don't have to worry about that boost of confidence you're looking for. With you already having started a business in highschool, I'm sure passion will help propel you forward.
ReplyDeleteThat's a nice entrepreneurship story, Will. I find it pretty cool and commendable that you were inspired by your dad's entrepreneurship and even took initiative to starting your own venture as a high school freshman. I don't know of too many people who started their own businesses at that age, so that's honestly just pretty cool. And I'm sure that some of the more "awkward" or "out of your comfort zone" assignments in this class will help with confidence development.
