Me: I am a University of Florida student perusing a degree
in advertising. I am also a homebrewer and I have work experience in bars which
gives me background knowledge about the kegerator. My aspirations are to work
in the field of brewing, and creating a kegerator design will help me on my
journey.
What am I offering? I am offering a cost efficient kegerator
that is great for parties and other events. My product will keep any sized keg
cold for hours without making a mess. It will also be easy to use for the
average consumer.
Who am I offering it to? I am offering this product to
college students above the age 21. College towns will be my primary target
market. College towns have the age demographic and many of the people living
there will see the need for a kegerator.
Why do they care? They should care because the kegerator
will make the party experience more enjoyable by keeping the beer cold and the
spirits high. My customers will also see the benefit in having an affordable
item that will last a long time.
What are my core competencies? My competencies are my experience
with beer and the beer industry which is unique to me. Not many people have
experience in the beer industry. I also am very determined to find a better way
to pour cold beer for the average party goer.
I think that all five points fit well together. My experience
with beer and my pursuit a better beer dispensing product go hand-in-hand. My
colleagues who looked at my previous napkin also agreed that selling in a
college town would be a prime place to sell. They would be my primary market
and word would spread quickly.
Hi William,
ReplyDeleteIt is really interesting and amazing to hear that you are interested in the beer brewing industry. I agree that you should target your product to college towns because a lot of college students will prefer to have cold beer and enjoy their time with their friends. But I also believe that you should know the other potential markets that your product can probably be used as well. Here is the link to my post: http://mynewbloggerblog10.blogspot.com/
William,
ReplyDeleteI like your kegerator idea. The home brew or local brew industry is really getting big all around the country. It is so big down here in South Florida that FIU offers a brewing class, I shared the link below. Definitely pursue other market segments not just college students. You could target the tailgating patrons with NFL team logos and maybe banquet hall businesses for their parties just to name a couple. There is definitely a good market for your product.

Hi William,
ReplyDeleteI think that you have a pretty great idea. Your main demographic being college towns is very smart. The biggest concern would be for it to be affordable. Most college students that I know are usually broke. I think college students and anyone buying a keg would absolutely find this idea to be valuable.
William,
ReplyDeleteI thoroughly enjoy reading about your idea and seeing you explain it over all of these class assignments. Clearly college towns are a great demographic, I'd even say specifically SEC or Big 12 schools especially since the weather during football season can be brutally hot for us fans. Your knowledge of the industry also seems very useful. I hope you continue to work on this idea and I look forward to reading more about your progress.
